ProjectChef, a non-profit organization, gets underway for another year. For the 2011/2012 year, Galloway's decided to supply Barb with some of her ingredient list. Spices, quinoa, short-grain brown rice, steel cut oats, millet, and more. We know these children go home and teach their parents and siblings what they've learned. We like the fact that Barb is teaching them how to cook real food.
Barb Finley created the program three years ago and has reached thousands of Vancouver children. She transforms classrooms into kitchens and inspires children with her hands-on approach (she names utensils - so a scraper is "Fred". Kids go home and ask for a Fred). These kids teach their parents how to use a knife properly, how to make a hot cereal, and how to make a salad. With cabbage. At Galloway's we believe in sitting down for dinner with the family, involving kids in the process of food, and therefore we proudly support Barb.
